Acar, who has participated in more than 200 personal and group exhibitions to date, is a world-renowned painter and sculptor. His works have been exhibited in many European countries, the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Arabian Peninsula, Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, Turkic Republics, China, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan, in museums, private collections, and galleries.

Ismail Acar was appointed a goodwill ambassador by the UN in 2015. He is one of the founders of the Turkey Luge Federation in 2008 and a board member of TEGV (Turkey Education Volunteers Foundation). He continues his work in Istanbul, the capital of three historical empires.
